First Rixos hotel opens in Egypt

Sharm El Sheikh, October 9, 2012

Rixos, one of the world’s fastest-growing luxury hotel chains, has opened its first hotel in Egypt, located in the region’s premiere beach destination, Sharm El Sheikh.

Rixos Sharm El Sheikh is nestled in the heart of the city, prominently set along the vast white sands of Nabq Bay. The resort provides a scenic view of the Gulf of Aqaba’s mouth, as well as Tiran Island, and is located 22 km from Naama Bay and about 8 km from the airport.

The sprawling resort encompasses 695 rooms and suites, which include 488 elegantly furnished rooms, 70 family rooms, in addition to 137 junior suites, ten of which have private plunge pools that offer spectacular views of the Red Sea, or “nature’s aquarium” as it renowned worldwide.

The resort has a large conference hall, two dining rooms, six à la carte restaurants, five bars, along with the famed Rixos Royal Spa, a statement from a hotel official said. The luxurious health and beauty center offers soothing water rituals, world-class massages, various body treatments, and skincare from a global programme of traditional and contemporary methods.

“Sharm El Sheikh’s reputation as a dynamic and rapidly-expanding touristic destination was among the key attributes that prompted our presence in Egypt. The travel haven is internationally recognised, which in conjunction with the strength of the Rixos brand, will result in a fruitful symbiotic relationship, benefitting both Rixos and Sharm El Sheikh,” said Basak Erel, senior vice president of brand management at Rixos Hotels.
