Plane forced to return after wrong passenger gets on board

LOS ANGELES, December 28, 2017

A Tokyo-bound plane was forced to make a U-turn four hours into the journey after the crew learned that a passenger was on the wrong flight, said a report.

Nippon Airways Flight 175, which had 226 passengers on board, departed Los Angeles at 11:36 am (0336 GMT) for Tokyo Narita Airport but turned around over the Pacific Ocean after realising the mix-up, said a report in Reuters.

"The cabin crew notified the pilot that one of the passengers boarded the incorrect flight, and the pilot in command made the decision to return to the originating airport," the airline said in a statement.

Model Chrissy Teigen, who was travelling with her husband John Legend, a singer and actor, tweeted about enduring her "flight to nowhere"

An investigation is underway to determine how the passenger boarded the flight, the report said.
