BIA sees massive turnout at Gaif meet

Over 1,000 delegates from overseas will attend the 27th General Arab Insurance Federation (Gaif) conference, to be held from February 26 to 28 in Bahrain.

The Bahrain Insurance Association (BIA) is hosting the biennial event considered to be the largest corporate event held in the Kingdom.

The three-day conference, widely regarded the Arab insurance industry’s largest and most influential event, is being held under the patronage of Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the Gulf Hotel in Manama.

The event has drawn wide-ranging Arab and international participation spanning 61 countries across the globe whio are here with an ultimate goal of creating a more integrated Arab insurance market, said a BIA official.

In tandem with the event is a three-day exhibition, which enables various companies to showcase their products and services.

BIA chairman Ashraf Bseisu said the association was proud to be hosting the major conference which reaffirmed the Kingdom’s leading position in the financial and insurance sector.

“We believe the conference theme, 'Towards a More Integrated Arab Insurance Market,' has been aptly chosen in light of the economic growth experienced by the industry, coupled with the challenges that go hand in hand with these growth dynamics”.

“Through intellectually-challenging and stimulating debates, Gaif will seek out innovative ways to consolidate, regulate, and bolster the Arab insurance markets, to achieve higher levels of synergy and assimilation.”
 
The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) is the Gaif Conference primary supporter, while its lead sponsor is the Arab Insurance Group (Arig) with the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) as strategic partner.-TradeArabia News Service
