Dubai with approximately 26,000 millionaires ranked top among Mena cities in the number of millionaires on a new list.

There were no Middle Eastern or African cities in the top 30, according to the New World Wealth report. London with 339,200 millionaires topped the list. New York City with 300,100 came in second and Tokyo with 226,500 millionaires was third. Mumbai with 37,100 millionaires was positioned at 30.

The top 30 included 12 Asian cities, 10 American cities and eight European cities. The highest ranked African city was Johannesburg with just over 23,000 millionaires in 2013.

The following countries have two or more cities in the top 30: US (7 cities), Germany (3 cities), China (2 cities), Japan (2 cities) and Switzerland (2 cities).

“Millionaires” otherwise known as “high net worth individuals” (HNWIs) refer to individuals with net assets of $1 million or more excluding their primary residences, the report said.  - TradeArabia News Service
