Guide budding entrepreneurs.....start a business

Tenmou's event to aid businesses in Bahrain

MANAMA, November 13, 2014

Tenmou, Bahrain's first 'Business Angels' organisation, is set to hold a series of events during the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) to celebrate and foster entrepreneurship and small businesses throughout the kingdom.

The events will be organised by Tenmou, in strategic partnership with the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), from Monday to November 23, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

During the week, signature events will feature mentorship sessions and workshops conducted by KPMG Fakhro, 4spots, Unido in partnership with Bahrain Women Society, Bahrain SME Society, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), and Suhail Algosaibi, which will help guide the budding entrepreneurs in a step-by-step process to start a business.

Participants can enrol online at bh.gew.co

Given that Bahrain is an entrepreneurial hub, the kingdom will take the lead in setting up the first exclusive Entrepreneurial Advisory Board with Tamkeen chairman and acting chief executive Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, as chairman.

"Small business growth is truly the backbone of our local, and regional economy," said Tenmou chairman Sami Jalal.

"Tenmou is honoured to take the leadership role in conducting this year's slate of events celebrating GEW.

"Research trends repeatedly indicate that if entrepreneurs are provided with the proper resources, they will create companies that sustain our economy in the future.

"The GEW provides that right platform to provide our small business community with an exciting and innovative experience that offers practical guidelines in setting up and running a business in a systematic manner," he added.

"Bahrain has long been at the centre of entrepreneurship, and the EDB aims to develop this further by working with our partners in the kingdom such as Tamkeen and the Bahrain Development Bank," EDB executive director - business development Vivian Jamal said.

GEW is a worldwide movement of entrepreneurial people, stimulating the economy by unleashing their enterprising talents and turning their ideas into reality.

It aims to inspire the next generation of future potential entrepreneurs and business leaders by engaging, connecting, mentoring, building and developing their confidence and ambitions through a series of activities hosted by partner organisations.

Launched in 2011, Tenmou aims to support entrepreneurs with valuable business assistance, including financial investment, mentorship, advice and guidance. - TradeArabia News Service
