Bank ABC appoints Group Chief Credit and Risk Officer

MANAMA, July 15, 2020

Bahrain-based Bank ABC, a leading international bank in the Mena region, has announced the appointment of Sedjwick Joseph as its new Group Chief Credit and Risk Officer.

Joseph had been serving as the Chief Risk Officer for Bank ABC in Europe since December 2015 and with this promotion he will be joining the Group’s headquarters in Bahrain.

With this new role, Joseph also joins the Bank’s Management Committee (Mancom) and will be reporting to the Group CEO Dr Khaled Kawan and to the Board Risk Committee.

Joseph will be responsible for Group Credit and Risk functions and will work closely with both the business and support functions to aid the Group strategy as well as further enhance the Group Credit and Risk Management framework and capabilities.

Dr Kawan said: “We are excited to appoint Sedjwick as our Group Chief Credit Risk Officer. His appointment takes advantage of the distinct opportunities that exist within Bank ABC globally, in a glaring example of our commitment as a Group to grow talent from within the organisation.

Joseph has over 25 years of banking experience across credit, risk management, portfolio management and analytics. Prior to joining Bank ABC, Joseph worked with a number of leading banks holding both country and regional roles across multiple geographies including Europe, Middle East, Asia, the US and Africa.

Joseph has a master’s degree in business and a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He is a regular speaker at Risk Management & Credit conferences. – TradeArabia News Service
