Bahrain POS transactions up 10.8% in June

The Point of Sale (POS) transactions in Bahrain recorded a monthly growth of 10.8% in volume in June compared to May to  6.19 million. This was, however, down 1.8% from June 2019 when it was 6.301 million,  Central Bank of Bahrain data revealed.
 
The POS transaction value in June was up 14.9% from May to BD175.6 million and down 15.7% from June 2019 when it was BD207.9 million.
 
By usage, in terms of numbers,supermarkets accounted for the highest number with 1,178,199 transactions and restaurants came second with 1,151,698 transactions, the CBB data said.
 
In terms of value, government services topped the list with BD37.6 million (up 6% monthly) and department stores came second with BD18.5 million. - TradeArabia News Service
