Saudi stocks surge on higher oil

Saudi Arabia's stock market opened 0.6 per cent higher on Saturday, supported by gains in the petrochemical sector after oil prices rose on Friday.
US crude for July delivery settled at $100.59 a barrel, up 36 cents. For the week, US crude gained $1.10, or 1.12 per cent. The all-share edged higher to 6,765 points and the petrochemical index gained one per cent to 6,953 points.
Petrochemical giant Saudi Basic Industries (Sabic) gained 0.5 per cent to SR107.8. The banking index also rose gaining 0.21 per cent, to 16,171 points.-Reuters
