Doka to open regional office in Dubai

Dubai, November 19, 2011

Austria-based Doka, one of the world’s leading full-line suppliers of modern system formwork technology, has announced plans to open its new regional office in Dubai in line with its global strategy.

The new hub will meet specific objectives of Doka such as ensuring its full-service formwork solutions, value-engineering and cost-optimized logistics are brought even closer to customers, in addition to installing and managing in Dubai globally-recognized competence centers for excellence in “high-rise”, “bridges and tunnels”, “energy”, and “rail” construction.

Back in January, the first stage of expansion for Doka within Jafza itself was completed with the move to a significantly larger and logistically optimized 50,000m2 facility, said a senior official.

Headed by Peter Vogel, regional manager, Middle East, Doka’s regional subsidiaries include twelve sales and service operations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon and Jordan.

The new facility guarantees provisions for continuous and wide-ranging innovation methods to suit regional construction needs, especially for enhanced servicing of the petrochemical, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.

Commenting on the expansion, Vogel said, “Dubai is geographically the most desirable location. Our base in Jafza – with proximity to both the airport and the marine cargo terminal – is ideal to sustain Doka’s market leadership and ensure maximum customer benefit across the Middle East.'

'The regional office offers top level European engineering and support to our local business units, which in turn is directly passed on to our construction partners,' he noted.

The first undertaking of the new regional office is participation this week in the Big 5 Exhibition, being held from November 21 - 24 in Dubai.

Doka will once again be showcasing their path-breaking formwork innovations for cast-in-place concrete construction, said Vogel.

Live demonstrations of Doka’s revolutionary shoring system, Load-bearing Staxo-40, will be held on Day 1 and Day 2 of the show at 4pm outside the concrete hall, he added.

Doka Group, the formwork technology leader from Austria, boasts of over 140 sales and logistics facilities in more than 70 countries and is one of Austria’s biggest exporters.-TradeArabia News Service
