The tenders for construction projects in Bahrain have dropped by more than 80 per cent when compared to last year, according to a report by our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.

Thirty per cent of contracting companies are without any business at all, the report said, quoting sources in the contractors’ society.

This is forcing contracting companies to sign on to projects at cost price, the report stated.

Many of them are either pulling out of business or are forced to shy away from their commitments, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
