Saudis to spend $1.33bn on airport projects

Saudi Arabia has approved a number of new airport development projects worth more than SR5 billion ($1.33 billion), according to reports.
The projects include building a new airport at Jazan called the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Airport and the expansion of the airport in Arar.
It also covers maintenance and operation of air navigation equipment and systems at various airports, operation, maintenance and cleaning works at Riyadh's King Khaled International Airport and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, a report in the Saudi Gazette newspaper said.
A number of development as well as operation and maintenance projects at some other airports have also been approved by Prince Fahd Bin Abdullah, president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), the report said.
