Focus on interior design issues at Doha conference

DOHA, September 9, 2014

Leading players in Qatar's interior design and fit-out sector are discussing key opportunities, new trends and technologies, at a conference currently under way in Doha, Qatar.

Future Interiors Qatar, a specialised conference for interior design, construction and fit-outs, was launched yesterday (September 8) at the Al Sharq Village Hotel.

Future Interiors Qatar is part of the Project Qatar Business Intelligence Series, organised by Advanced Conferences & Meetings in partnership with Project Qatar organisers IFP Qatar.

The B2B conferences aim to meet demand for specialist, interactive insights into the challenges and opportunities facing companies in Qatar.

Future Interiors Qatar has brought together leading interior designers, design architects, consultants, project owners, developers and contractors involved in ongoing projects in Qatar and Middle East.

The event is designed to be a catalyst for interior design and construction in Qatar and the Middle East region, said the organisers.

The conference focused on the relationship between interior design, architecture, mechanical, engineering and plumbing (MEP) installation and design processes.

It featured presentations from leading architects like AGi Architects, expert consultants, Hill International, and a panel discussion in which Qatar University, the Private Engineering Office and the Primary Healthcare Corporation, participated.

The conference also included presentations from associate sponsors Bobrick Washroom Equipment and Hempel Paints. These presentations offered an insight into on how new product innovations can be utilised to achieve innovative interior design, while balancing engineering, cost and efficiency concerns.

Joanna Edwards, head of conference production at Advanced Conferences & Meetings, said: “The first day of Future Interiors Qatar was very successful, with some exciting speakers sharing their knowledge and attendees enjoying networking and exchanging best practice.

“The Project Qatar Business Intelligence Series offers an excellent knowledge-sharing platform for Qatar’s construction industry and complements the annual Project Qatar exhibition, which is well known as the construction industry’s annual meeting place in Qatar. We’re looking forward to the future events in the series.”

The conference will focus on enhancing the interactions between organisational stakeholders, smart building techniques and project management strategies on the second day. - TradeArabia News Service
