Aldar completes Abu Dhabi mall construction work

ABU DHABI, October 23, 2014

The construction work at the Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi's ultimate retail destination, has been completed and the development is now on track for launch in November, said a report.

The mall is the second biggest in the UAE, and the largest in Abu Dhabi. It will house the emirate’s first Hollister store, Cheesecake Factory, Angelina Café, Geant Hypermarket, and other outlets.

Aldar officials said the mall was gearing up for its launch before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend next month, reported the Gulf News.

Construction workers were seen giving finishing touches and finalising the interior and exterior design of the stores at the 2.5-million-sq-ft mall, the report added.

The mall boasts nearly 10,000 covered parking spaces with direct access to the highway, while visitors will also have easy access to other Yas Island amenities, including the Ferrari World theme park via an elevated footbridge.

At the heart of Yas Mall, a central space called the ‘Town Square’ will represent the largest enclosed gathering space of any shopping centre in the Middle East. Its naturally-lit spaces surrounded by greenery and water features were specially designed to bring the outdoors indoors.

It will also features a 20-screen Vox Cinemas, which will boast the biggest Max screen in Abu Dhabi at 24.5 m wide and also three Gold Cinemas with its 4DX technology.-TradeArabia News Service
