SPF .... sees big demand for sandwich panels in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi SPF to install hitech production lines

JEDDAH, January 7, 2015

Sandwich Panel Factory (SPF), a major manufacturer of expanded polyurethane foam of sandwich panel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is planning to boost its production capacity by installing hitech production lines from Korea and Italy.

A branch of Hasan bin Al Hayas & Company, SPF said its expansion plans are aimed at meeting an increasing demand for insulation panels following the boom in the construction of residential and commercial buildings in the kingdom in addition to the schools.

In line with its expansion plans, the Saudi firm has signed an agreement with Kindus, a leading Korean company, for the supply of continuous lines.

“With a production capacity of one million sq m per year of wall and roof panels of various thickness and types, a Kindus line can produce up to 480 m in an hour,” stated Mohammed Al Khateeb, SPF general manager.

This also includes production of panels with pre-painted steel, pre-painted aluminium, aluminum foils, bitumen paper and Asphalt paper, he noted.

SPF, said Al Khateeb, also has plans to collaborate with Italian company Orma for the supply and installation of a new molding line to cover the increasing requirement of the cold rooms and cold stores insulation panels with cam locks system.

In order to meet customer requirements, SPF has launched new products such as corrugated roof panels with a total thickness of 13 cm, stated Al Khateeb.

“SPF is the first company to produce a roof panel with such thickness in Saudi Arabia,” he added.

According to him, Saudi market is witnessing an increasing demand for these panels as they are cost-effective and help in reducing building costs and power consumption by at least 40 per cent.

On the future plans, Al Khateeb said, SPF is co-ordinating with the United Nations to modify production lines in order to phase out the use of 141 gases in the production, and contribute to environmental sustainability.

"The Polyurethane used in insulation panel manufacturing is known for not emanating gases or any other harmful substances, and thus does not produce or cause the production of any radioactive elements," he explained.

In addition to SPF, Hasan bin Al Hayas & Company owns Supply Trading Group, a key player in executing hyper and super market projects, and Refrigeration Engineering Company, a specialist in refrigeration and industrial kitchens.

Established in 1998 to supply the Saudi Arabian market with insulation panels stuffed with high quality foam, the SPF is ISO 9001:2008 certified and is in the process of receiving the certificate for Saudi Standards (SASO).

The company has played a key role in important projects in Saudi Arabia by supplying panels to Watania Poultry farms projects in Buraidah, Projects for Tariq Hammad Al Youbi Est., Al Matana Est., Aman Al Mutamayez Est. in Riyadh.

In Jeddah, it has supplied the panels for Bashar Najeeb Al Jundi Factory and to Al Sharqawi Company for electromechanical contracting.-TradeArabia News Service
