Global players gear up for Wetex 2016

DUBAI, October 3, 2016

Leading regional and global firms will be showcasing their widest and latest range of green products, solutions and technologies at the 18th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (Wetex 2016) which opens in Dubai, UAE, tomorrow (October 4).

During the three-day event, these key industry players will help enhance innovation and sustainable solutions for the regional and global water, energy and environment industries.

Wetex 2016 is supporting the exchange of experiences, knowledge and the latest developments in green solutions, said the event organiser Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa).

It gives large and medium companies the opportunity to be acquainted with the most recent developments of this sector, and take part in future energy projects, it stated.

The participants will have a chance to meet decision makers and experts from the energy, water and environment industries from all over the world and exchange ideas and experiences with them, it added.

"As an annual show, Wetex serves as a platform for companies, authorities, and specialised organisations to present their latest technologies in water, environment and energy. Organisations participating at the show will also present their ambitious goals and mega projects, which will be a source of competition for international companies looking to meet their needs for innovative and advanced services, products and solutions fulfilling the future requirements," remarked Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the managing director and chief executive of Dewa and president and founder of Wetex.

"This leads to supporting and accelerating the innovation process to develop sufficient and sustainable solutions, and also creating new services that will help to develop the plans and strategies of water, energy and the environment on the short, medium, and long term," he noted.

Al Tayer pointed out that Wetex supported the global drive towards sustainability, energy conservation and preservation of natural resources.

The upcoming event will feature projects aimed to preserve the environment and reduce carbon emissions through the introduction of innovative systems and raising the efficiency of plants.

"Moreover, it will highlight new ways for waste recycling. The show will certainly help in building anticipated partnerships between public and private sectors, including local, regional and international companies, to ultimately serve the interest of the energy, water and environment sectors," said Al Tayer.

The 18th edition of the utility expo will be the largest in terms of display area, number of exhibitors, and anticipated number of visitors under the umbrella of the third Green Week. It also coincides with the third World Green Economy Summit and the first Dubai Solar Show.-TradeArabia News Service
