Trowers & Hamlins boosts Mideast energy team

LONDON, March 28, 2017

Trowers & Hamlins, a leading international law firm, said its partner and head of energy and natural resources Tom Wigley has relocated to its Oman office from London as part of its regional strategy.

Tom was based at the firm's London office for 15 years. During this time, his practice was focused on Middle Eastern matters, with a particularly specialism in power generation and transmission, water and infrastructure development projects and oil and gas work.

This move will enhance the team that is already there in the region and further grow the firm's energy and natural resources capabilities across the Middle East.

The firm has recently been appointed by Electricity & Water Authority in Bahrain in relation to the Al Dur II IWPP; also of note is the achievement of financial close of the Apco IPP in Jordan where Tom led the team which advised Nepco on what is to date Jordan's largest project financing.

On his relocation, Wigley said: "We are continuing to invest in our energy and natural resources capabilities across the entire firm and it will be great to work more closely with our Middle East teams on the ground."

"We already have a very compelling offering in the Middle East and beyond, and we are looking to develop and grow our client base further. We see considerable opportunities in the region around energy efficiency, waste to energy and renewables; all areas where we can use our UK expertise to better assist regional clients," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
