Matic achieves key cleaning services milestone

DUBAI, October 19, 2017

Matic, a leading marketplace for cleaning services in the GCC region, has announced that it has successfully completed two million hours of domestic part-time cleaning through bookings on its platform.

The platform, which matches individuals seeking professional cleaning services with cleaning companies, has leveraged the technology that it developed to upgrade the convenience, quality, and safety of home cleaning.

It had recently secured a $3 million investment from Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP), one of the largest venture capital firms in the region.

On the key milestone, CEO and co-founder Mohamed Samad said: "The home services space is messy and complex. Striking a balance between automation, technology and the human touch is valuable. Our goal is to use technology to empower the individuals providing home cleaning services."

Cleaners, drivers, and dispatchers on the Matic platform are connected to a cloud-based solution, which provides customers a great service end-to-end; from immediate booking confirmation, to forward scheduling, and cleaner reviews, stated the top official.

The free cloud-based platform also substantially enhances the productivity of cleaning companies, with features such as driver route optimisation, scheduling, client and staff management, accounting, and reporting to ensure the safety, security and productivity of cleaning professionals.

Furthermore, the technology improves the working conditions of cleaners, by providing transparency, allowing for instance additional compensation for any overtime work as well as rewarding the highest performing service providers based on user ratings of the cleaners, he aadded.

Since deploying the technology in November last year in Saudi Arabia, Matic’s cleaning partners grew their businesses ten-fold.

By driving business growth and upgrading the cleaning industry, Matic said it aims to create the largest on-demand cleaning platform in the region, creating more jobs for cleaning professionals.

"We are excited to partner with the Matic team to solve the difficult problem of organising the supply of part-time cleaning, especially in the GCC," remarked Walid Mansour, a partner and chief investment officer at MEVP.

Since its inception in 2016, Matic has facilitated more than 500,000 bookings, completed over two million hours of domestic cleaning, and activated over 2,000 cleaning professionals.

Following the funding round in March 2017, Matic has been expanding and launching new cities across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.-TradeArabia News Service
