Construction experts discuss technology at Tekla User Days

DUBAI, August 29, 2021

Trimble, a global construction technology leader, brought together industry leaders and its Tekla software users at the company’s flagship annual event, Tekla User Days (TUD) 2021, over three days last week.

For the second consecutive year running, Tekla User Days (from August 24 to 26) was hosted as a virtual conference, to ensure safety and well-being of the attendees with the continued Covid-19 pandemic unease.

This was the very first edition of TUD to bring Tekla experts, users and construction industry leaders from India and Middle East together on a single virtual platform, the company said.

The attendees were able to walk through a 3D virtual conference venue to attend key sessions from industry stalwarts, choose their preferred training sessions, network with fellow attendees and even speak directly to experts from Tekla to address any of their queries at the virtual booths.

The three-day event consisted of workshops, competitions, case studies showcase, and roundtable discussions, in which software users had an opportunity to keep abreast of the latest updates on the Tekla 2021 version. The participants focused and actively engaged on the different aspects of the construction industry during these sessions.

Paul Wallett, Regional Director for Middle East and India, Trimble Solutions, said: “It was a great opportunity to bring together industry leaders and Tekla software users and provide them with a platform to share their experiences. It was an honor to meet industry experts and high-profile users from the Middle East and India as they discussed innovative tools and technologies that make infrastructure construction and development more efficient. Ground-breaking innovations such as autonomous vehicles and equipment, robotics, and augmented reality have proven to be instrumental in enabling construction companies of all sizes to deliver according to expectations. We look forward to engaging our Tekla users in similar meaningful conversations about the future of the industry and its best practices across the region.”

Held under the theme ‘Connected Construction, Connected World,’ an illustrious roundtable discussion brought together several industry veterans to discuss the challenges the transportation infrastructure industry is facing today and the technologies that are at our disposal today to overcome some of these challenges.

Wallett engaged with government representatives and construction experts, including Gabriel Neves, Technical Manager for Bridges of Trimble Solutions; Daniel Llort, Civil Engineer for the Roads Department of the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure; Octaviano Paraiso, Assistant Vice President for Production of Systra International Bridge Technologies; Soughah AlSamahi, Civil Engineer, Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, UAE and Anoop Singh, Head of Bridges, COWI India.

The panelists also discussed how to integrate technology effectively into infrastructure construction workflows for improved efficiencies.
