Najah attracts 100 educational exhibitors

Abu Dhabi, October 18, 2008

More than 100 educational and professional exhibitors from 11 countries are expected to participate at Najah, the most comprehensive education, training and careers event to be held in the UAE.

Najah will open at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on Sunday, October 19, 2008.

The exhibition will be officially opened by Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research.

IIR Middle East, the organisers of Najah will welcome Rashed Al Nuaimi, director general of the Ministry of Education, who will also be in attendance at the VIP Opening Ceremony.

The event, organised by IIR Middle East, is under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, and supported by the Abu Dhabi Education Council and the Ministry of Education.

The event covers three major areas students and professionals are concerned with today: education, training and careers.

Exhibitors from all three sectors will be well represented, with reputed universities, training centres and leading international companies looking to recruit new graduates.

The event features expanded job profiling sections, a careers advice lounge and interactive seminar sessions.

Highlights at this year's event include a one-day appearance from the British Council, which has invited 50 UK institutes and universities as part of Edukex.

It will be the only opportunity for Abu Dhabi residents to directly consult with representatives from some of the UK's highest-regarded institutions and get feedback on suitable courses, the visa application process, and details of studying and living in the UK.

School leavers and professionals are urged to bring their CVs to Najah, in order to electronically upload them to www.jobs.abudhabi.ae, the official online job recruitment website in Abu Dhabi that is being exclusively launched at Najah.

The site will serve as a forum for job seekers and Abu Dhabi employers in the public and private sectors to connect, while also offering useful links and content on working and living in Abu Dhabi.

Seminar sessions on the opening day of the exhibition will begin with a presentation by Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), advising prospective students about the educational advantages and services offered by the numerous universities at DIAC.

Murdoch University will address visitors with an interest in media careers, discussing media education and how Murdoch University’s programmes greatly benefit potential professionals in media-based fields.

A seminar which will attract parents and students alike will be presented by the Universities and Colleges Admission Services (UCAS), which will enlighten students wishing to attend university in the UK, preparing them for the admissions process and shepherding them through the applicant journey.

Bringing some of the most renowned education institutions and competitive companies under one roof, Najah is absolutely vital to serious students and professionals looking to advance their careers and enrich their lives.
