Bahrain Polytechnic in career expo deal

Manama, November 7, 2010

Bahrain Polytechnic, a key professional and technical training institution in the Kingdom, has signed up as a gold sponsor for the 'Bahrain Career Expo' which opens on Monday.

The annual event, being organised for the tenth time, will run at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) till November 11.

The expo targets Bahraini secondary school students, vocational students, jobseekers, parents and the community at large in an effort to enhance Bahraini students’ and jobseeker’s understanding of the professional world and to offer a platform for them to select the best training options to their chosen careers.

Bahrain Polytechnic engages in a range of sponsorships and other initiatives designed to align the skills sets of graduates with the exact requirements of the job market, said a statement from Bahrain Polytechnic.

The tertiary education institute is committed to producing Bahraini graduates who are work-ready equipped with the necessary skill sets in demand today and for the foreseeable future.

This mission is in line with the 'Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030' which mandates the role of education reform as a cornerstone of the move towards a knowledge-based economy.

Bahrain Polytechnic was established in 2008 by his Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as a cornerstone project of the Economic Development Board (EDB), chaired by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain.

It was created to address the need for a skilled Bahraini labour force aimed at supporting economic growth and diversification and is therefore proactive in ensuring the success of the Kingdom’s economic reform program.-TradeArabia News Service
