Bahrain's Labour Ministry has received 10,197 applications for domestic workers in the first quarter of this year.

Acting Under-Secretary and Labour Affairs Assistant Under-Secretary Subah Al Dossary said the ministry had approved 7,478 applications, of which 87 per cent were for housemaids.

A total of 4,738 work permits have been renewed and modification of functions of
176 employees approved, Al Dossary said. E-Clients service will be inaugurated soon, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
