NBAD plans to recruit over 100 UAE nationals

Abu Dhabi, February 2, 2014

National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) plans to recruit more than 100 UAE nationals this year, said its top official ahead of a major career fair in the UAE capital.

The Abu Dhabi lender is taking part in Tawdheef Career Fair which opens tomorrow (February 3) at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre as part of its Emiratisation drive to attract and develop the skills of UAE nationals.

“Emiratisation is a top priority in UAE,” remarked Ehab Hassan, the senior managing director & Group chief human resources officer at NBAD.

“Tawdheef offers exclusive access to pool of talented UAE nationals from different fields with skills most sought after by employers and our participation in this career fair in line with government's efforts to strengthen the national workforce," he added.

During the career fair, NBAD will offer onsite interviews to the candidates. It will also bring representatives from different divisions to give insight into division and career opportunities.

“NBAD offers numerous training and career opportunities for fresh graduates and experienced professionals who are interested in building successful career at the UAE's leading financial institute,” remarked Amani Al Khaledi, the head of Emiratisation at NBAD.
“Through Tawdheef, we will promote these opportunities as well as Emiratisation programmes which are aimed to hire, develop and retain high potentials,” she added.

NBAD has launched several initiatives to develop and maximise the potentials of UAE nationals in different stages. For instance, under the AFAQ Management trainee Programme, NBAD sponsors a Master’s degree in Finance by recruiting fresh university graduates who exhibit great motivation and the potential to grow into future leaders.

The recruits complete post graduate certificate which is equivalent to half of the Master's requirement in the first year by studying fulltime at the academy.

During this period, they receive full employment salary. After the first year, AFAQ recruits are assigned to their permanent position. While they work fulltime, they continue studying part-time toward the completion of the Master's Degree.

The bank also offers UAE national staff Al Sadara program where they can study for a Masters in International Business and gain work experience simultaneously, explained Al Khaledi

“Our Emiratisation initiatives are designed to equip youth with the knowledge and develop their skills to meet the market demand for qualified Emiratis,” she added.-TradeArabia News Service
