Students at the roadshow

IDP to showcase 38 universities for UAE students

DUBAI, October 14, 2014

IDP Education, a leading student placement organisation, is set to launch a roadshow that will provide students and their parents in the UAE with all information required to study in a foreign university of their choice.

The ‘IDP Middle East Study Abroad Roadshow’ this month will bring 38 universities from Australia, UK, US and Canada.

The event will be held in Dubai on October 17 at the Shangri La Hotel, in Abu Dhabi on October 18 at the Le Royal Meridien and in Al Ain on October 19 at the Hilton.

IDP has also supported several UAE government bodies with their higher education requirements such as the Adnoc, Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Education Council, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Dubai Municipality and Dubai Police among other institutions.

It has recently signed an MoU with the Ministry of Education in UAE, whereby IDP will offer IELTS testing and preparation courses to Madares Al Ghad high school students through IDP IELTS partner in Sharjah, in addition to placing students in universities in US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

Maher El Bakry, IDP Middle East regional director, said: “IDP Education has a rich history spanning four decades. Since 1969 IDP Education has been an industry leader in facilitating and promoting international education. We have placed over 2,000 students from Middle East in Australian Universities over the last three years.

“Over 550 students were placed in the US and more than 60 students from Middle East were placed in Canada from the Middle East since 2012. Furthermore, over 450 students in the UK from Middle East during 2012 and 2013 with students opting for in-demand courses like business management, engineering, computer science and IT.”

The roadshow will include 15 universities from the UK including University of Birmingham, University of Nottingham, University of Southampton, University of Sussex and University of St Andrews; Australia such as Monash University, The University of Melbourne, The University of Sydney, University of Adelaide and University of New South Wales, besides nine universities from the US and four from Canada.

“This roadshow is a great platform for students who wish to study abroad. It’s an end-to-end process where the students and parents are educated and informed about choices they can make to secure a bright career. Our counsellors assist these students with their goal of studying overseas. We help international students gain admission to educational institutions in the main English-speaking countries. We also provide personalised course advice, course application submission and pre-departure guidance,” said El Bakry.

“Studying abroad is a unique immersive experience that helps the student to gain confidence living among new people, to discover a new culture and a whole new world apart from learning the selected curriculum. Studying abroad has multiple benefits of learning under well trained educators and learning beyond the regular classroom format,” he said.

“Students are trained to change the way they think apart from developing their language skills. At the end of a successful term completion, there is an international exposure and global job prospects to choose from depending on the student’s area of interest,” added El Bakry. - TradeArabia News Service
