CPC unit signs sponsorship deal with Sharjah varsity

DUBAI, November 14, 2015

Construction Products Holding Company (CPC) said its unit has signed a sponsorship participation agreement with the American University of Sharjah (AUS) to sponsor the University's Institutional Advancement Events through the year 2016.

Binaa Wa Amal/Building Hope, a CSR division of the Saudi group, said the move comes as part of its efforts to strengthen academic and education collaboration.

The agreement was signed in Sharjah by Faysal Alaquil, the director of Business Development Chief of Binaa Wa Amal division and Björn Kjerfve, the chancellor of the American University of Sharjah.

This initiative is part of CPC’s on-going commitment to fostering partnerships with leading universities, which develop local human capital and contribute to further economic growth.

On the deal, Alaquil said: "This is part of (Building Hope) commitment towards sustainability business footprint, with continuous collaboration with the American University in Sharjah, it certainly reflect the spirit of cooperation to continue to foster through collaboration between CPC and AUS."

On this occasion chancellor Kjerfve said : "We are proud of building strong relationships with our corporate partners through which the University has been able to benefit in many ways."

"Binaa Wa Amal has been supporting Education through sponsoring programs and agreements with different universities such as Effat University, KAUST, Dar Alhekmah University and The American University of Cairo,” stated Alaquil.
