JEDDAH, December 10, 2015

Cambridge English for Schools Forums brought together school owners, school principals, heads of English language and education professionals in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to discuss the importance of setting and achieving English language standards.

Organised by Cambridge English Language Assessment, the forums focused on sharing best practices from schools in Saudi Arabia and beyond, highlighting ways in which schools can effectively use the Cambridge English for Schools range of exams to prepare students for high stakes exams such as IELTS.

Local and international case studies were presented which focused on how management in primary and secondary schools can support both students and teachers.

Moustafa Soliman, business development manager, Gulf and Middle East for Cambridge English Language Assessment, said: “By using external measures of assessment, schools across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are playing a huge role in helping to raise the standard of English and to prepare students to excel at university.

"A number of schools in the Kingdom use Cambridge English for Schools exams to give students real life English skills. The enthusiasm for learning English and the quality of teaching has helped make this a success.”

Belal Tahir, head of Development and International Programmes at Al Yusr International School, Jeddah, said: “The introduction of Cambridge English Language Assessment exams has enabled us to support a wide range of students in the school. The Cambridge English exams have provided us with additional information regarding student literacy levels.
