NVTC in key partnership deal with Tamkeen

MANAMA, April 9, 2016

Nasser Vocational Training Centre (NVTC) has signed a MoU with Bahrain's labour fund Tamkeen to support training and wage subsidy for its students at industrial companies in the kingdom.

The MoU is part of joint efforts by Tamkeen and NVTC to develop Bahrainis and make them the ‘employees of choice,’ said Dr Ebrahim Janahi, the chief executive of TAmkeen after signing the deal with Nabih Aziz, NVTC assistant director general for Academic Affairs.

"Tamkeen works continually to provide opportunities to Bahrainis, paving the way for them to advance and develop in their professions and businesses," stated Dr Janahi.

"It has co-ordinated with many partners and stakeholders to offer Bahrainis such opportunities, and therefore, we are delighted to partner with NVTC to give this select group of students the chance to achieve their professional goals," he added.

On the partnership, Aziz said: "It falls within NVTC’s plans and strategies to create a developed educational environment in vocational and technical areas as well as provide support to the community by providing trained technical professionals who would contribute to its advancement and development."

"Through its advanced academic programmes, the centre aims to graduate qualified and competent people to join the labour market. The MoU will serve Bahrain’s development by providing individuals with extensive expertise and knowledge, which embodies NVTC’s actual mission to adopt training and educational programmes that serve national interests," he stated.

"This also reflects the attention NVTC turns to its students by qualifying them in terms of education and training as well as empowering them to keep up with technological and economic changes," he added.

According to Aziz, the MoU is part of an industrial partnership system, which NVTC has been adopting since its establishment, seeking to train and recruit students in different technical and vocational fields.

This process plays a key role in supplying the government and private sectors with promising and competent young employees, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
