SSP wins Abu Dhabi Terminal 3 F&B contract
Abu Dhabi

SSP, a leading operator of food and beverage (F&B) outlets, has won a three-year exclusive management contract for all outlets in Abu Dhabi Airport’s new Terminal 3 building.

Abu Dhabi Airports Company and the F&B operator signed the contract today (July 16).

Offering an extensive portfolio of international food and beverage brands, SSP already operates in more than 130 airports, 30 countries, and manages over 2,000 restaurants, bars, cafes, convenience stores and food courts worldwide.

Brands managed by SSP range from full service to casual dining restaurants, as well as convenience stores and fast-food outlets. At Abu Dhabi, the brands SSP will feature include Burger King, Sahten, which will serve Lebanese food; Gino’s pizza; Yum Cha, a Chinese concept; Upper Crust; Segafredo; Caffè Ritazza; Hippopotamus; Bill Bentley; Flavours and SSP’s new bakery brand Panopolis.

'ADAC's vision and mission is to constantly strive to provide best-in-class services to our customers and today’s contract signing with SSP underlines that commitment,” said Khalifa Al Mazrouei, chairman and managing director of ADAC.

Henrik Andersen, managing director of SSP Gulf and India, said: “Supporting ADAC’s aim of establishing the new Terminal 3 at Abu Dhabi Airport as a benchmark for the region goes hand-in-hand with our strategy to be recognised as the leading operator of food and beverage brands in the Middle East.

“We’re also delighted to be working in co-operation with our joint venture partner, Mr Saeed Ghobash of Ghobash Trading and Investment. His company’s local knowledge and sound infrastructure were instrumental in helping us secure this business. While we have an extensive network and experience in F&B outlets in travel locations around the world, Abu Dhabi International Airport will actually be SSP’s first venture in the region and our first with Ghobash Trading and Investment, so we are excited to be embarking on this new opportunity with strong regional partner ADAC.”

SSP will commence its operations from the opening of the Terminal 3, which is scheduled to be in late October 2008. - TradeArabia News Service
