New medical centre opens in East Riffa
Manama, February 24, 2014
A new state-of-the-art medical centre will be opened today (February 24) in East Riffa.
Al Hilal Multi-Speciality Medical Centre will operate in all specialities and departments, which are capable of handling patients round the clock, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
The centre will be opened by Health Minister Sadiq Al Shehabi in the presence of Al Hilal Hospital and centre managing director Abdul Latheef and other officials.
"The Al Hilal Multi-Speciality Medical Centre's vision is to provide affordable and quality healthcare to all sections of the society," said Latheef.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, he said the centre has been operational since February 10 following a soft opening.
He said the three-storey facility has 15 qualified doctors and offers a wide range of treatments including internal medicine, gynaecology, general surgery, paediatrics, orthodontics, ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology, radiology and dentistry in addition to a 24-hour clinic service.
The centre is equipped with a modern laboratory, X-ray unit, 3D Ultrasound and a pharmacy.
"Al Hilal is pursuing its plans to extend its services to areas far away from Muharraq and Riffa where patients are finding it difficult to travel," added Latheef.
"New branches of the hospital are due to be set up by the end of 2015."
The proposed branches will be located in Manama, Isa Town and Hidd.
"The hospital and medical centre will pursue plans for Accreditation Certification to etch its name for Quality and Standards of its services," said Latheef.
The centre is part of Al Hilal Hospital and Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals and Polyclinics located in Oman, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. - TradeArabia News Service
