MANAMA, November 17, 2014

The Arab-Asia Business Partnership Summit 2014 in Bahrain will explore investment opportunities in the healthcare sector under the theme 'Reinventing Regional Markets'.

The summit, representing an exhibition and a conference, will take place from December 9 to 12 under the patronage of Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The event will be held in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with the aim of demonstrating the potential of both emerging and existing opportunities for cross-border partnerships throughout the wider Arab-Asia region. Healthcare is now a prime focus among other key sectors including information and communication technology, tourism/health tourism, fast moving consumer goods, real estate and construction companies.

Leading the high-level healthcare session will be Partners in Population and Development (PPD), the inter-governmental alliance of 26 developing countries which is also a permanent observer at the United Nations.

PPD secretary-general Dr Joe Thomas, who will moderate the session, said, we are eager to facilitate an insightful exchange of ideas at the conference with a specific focus investment opportunities in the region's health sector.

"We expect the session to highlight key growth drivers and educate investors on ways to help meet supply and generate sound investment return."

Arab-Asia Business Partnership Summit chairwoman Shaikha Noora bint Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa said it is a matter of great honour and privilege for us to have received co-operation from PPD in bringing this revolutionary summit to fruition.

"It is of great significance and value to the summit as PPD not only represents 26 developing countries across the globe but also in its Permanent UN Observer status.

"Their expertise in healthcare and deep knowledge of key markets within the Arab world and Asia is sure to be a highlight at the conference."

The summit will also celebrate India's strengthened ties with the Arab world by featuring it as their first-ever focus country.

A high-level delegation led by CII will showcase available investment initiatives and business opportunities in both public and private sectors for delegates from across the Arab-Asian region. - TradeArabia News Service
