Dubai starts work on new fertility centre building

DUBAI, July 10, 2019

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has announced that it has begun work on a new gynaecology and fertility centre building in the emirate.
 
The new centre, which is located on the grounds of Latifa Hospital for Women and Children, will provide services such as ovarian tissue freezing, oocyte invitro maturation, Micro TESE and contribute to fertility-related research activities.

The building, which will include a ground floor and a first floor, will be spread across a 7,500-sq-m area in the compound of Latifa Women and Children Hospital.

It will include six specialised outpatient clinics and support services including three radiology rooms, consultation rooms, a modern pharmacy and a phlebotomy lab, said a statement from DHA.

It will also include two highly specialised surgery rooms for invitro fertilisation (IVF) procedures such as oocyte retrieval and embryo transfers as well as a specialised embryology lab (to provide freezing services, genetic services etc) and a research lab that supports fertility related studies will also part of the new structure.

Commenting on the new facility, Humaid Al Qutami, director general of the DHA, said that the new state-of-the-art centre, which will be equipped with skilled staff and the latest technology in the field, is an important addition to its current international accredited facilities.

He highlighted the centre’s notable capabilities revealing that 4,790 births took place because of the fertility treatments provided by the centre.

"To ensure customers’ privacy, the centre will have luxurious rooms for short stay that are highly equipped with state-of-the-art technology and services that guarantee patient comfort and high quality treatment," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
