Agility to boost Jordan presence

Agility has announced plans to step up its logistics operations in Jordan’s thriving oil and gas industry in the coming months.

The company’s plans include developing its infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the kingdom’s petroleum segment, said a spokesman.

As an oil importing nation, Jordan has seen a growing demand for comprehensive logistics services, particularly in the midstream sector. Agility shares a strong relationship with Jordan and is currently working on a number of prestigious projects which include the Aqaba Logistics Village and the King Hussein International Airport/Cargo Terminal in Aqaba.

“To date, the company has invested heavily into developing its infrastructure in the kingdom. With a strong presence in Jordan backed by the knowledge and expertise of a major global operation, the company will be looking to increase its operations in the region in the coming months,” said the spokesman.

Agility, which operates more than 450 offices in over 100 countries, has a wide range of oil and gas clients. In Jordan they were contracted to work on one of the first BOT contracts in the kingdom in 2002 and which is being executed since 2004.

To address the various requirements of the oil and gas industry and showcase its solutions, Agility hosted a large gathering of professionals from the private and public sector of Jordan’s energy sector, in Amman recently.

During the presentation, Bader Al Saif, senior vice president – Oil & Gas for Agility, explained in detail the oil and gas logistics that Agility specialises in. These include all aspects of the supply chain beginning with sourcing of goods and ending with supply to the end consumer and including storage, transportation and distribution.

“We offer unique solution and services that support upstream, midstream and downstream and have the capabilities to handle hydrocarbons and well as materials management,” he added.

Agility’s portfolio of specialized services for the energy sector includes warehouse management, project forwarding, heavy lifting, liquid bulk transportation, marine services, purchasing & expediting and vendor invoice auditing.

Mohammad Al Ramadhan, vice president – Oil & Gas highlighted the various aspects of the fuel supply chain by demonstrating the solutions Agility offers other customers in the region. “Agility has a proven track record, in the Middle East and across the globe, for providing comprehensive and reliable logistics solutions. We understand the growing needs of the oil and gas industry and offer personalized and innovative solutions to meet their requirements,” he added.
