Logwin AG, a major provider of logistics and transport solutions based in Germany, said it had recently transported 15,300 stadium seats to Qatar for the Handball World Championship.
 
The championship was held at the newly-built sports hall in Lusail near Doha.

Despite busy flights in the pre-Christmas season, Logwin succeeded in conveying 15,300 seats and around 100 tables for the VIP area to Qatar on time.

The project team shipped a total of 30 tonnes per airfreight from China and Malaysia, said Christian Goedden, the national sales manager at Logwin in Malaysia.

In China, Logwin organised transportation from the airport in Beijing and in Malaysia all the way from the factory in Kuala Lumpur.
"The total volume was huge, which is why we split the goods up into eight air freight shipments," explained Goedden.

"That made it easier to book the freight space as well as to arrange the onward transportation from Doha. An average of around 2,000 seats went on board each machine," he noted.

Goedden said the time remaining until the opening ceremony was short and so an efficient logistical solution was needed.

"Logwin first negotiated the best possible air freight allocations with the airlines and then informed the customer about the flight plans. This enabled the company to produce the seats, tables, armrests and podiums just-in-time - directly from production to truck," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
