Oman is set to become the new trade partner for the Qeshm Free Trade Zone, a senior official was quoted as saying in a report.

Managing director of Qeshm Free Trade Zone Organisation Hamidreza Momeni made the remarks in a meeting with the Omani economic delegation recently, added the Iran Daily report, citing IRNA.

He said that the direct Oman-Qeshm shipping line is among the top priorities of the organisation.

He further noted that following the sisterhood of Qeshm Island and Sohar, it is expected that the two sides will witness further expansion of cooperation and increase in trade exchanges.

Highlighting Qeshm's high capabilities in fuel bunkering and ship overhaul, Momeni said that the completion of the project will meet the demands of states such as Oman.
