Grandweld delivers maintenance, support vessel to Adnoc

DUBAI, November 11, 2015

Grandweld, a fully integrated shipyard providing shipbuilding, ship repair, and engineering solutions, recently delivered a newbuild 50-meter dive maintenance and support vessel, Tawam1, to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc).

The vessel was part of a shipbuilding contract signed on December 19, 2013, to design, build and deliver one dive maintenance and support vessel (DMSV), said a statement from the company.

The vessel will be operated by Irshad and will be utilised to serve the dive and maintenance operations in the Abu Dhabi offshore oil fields, it said.

The new vessel can accommodate up to 30 crew, fitted with an integrated diving systems, designed to achieve 60 tonnes bollard pull and speed of 13 knots, it stated.

Additionally, in order to support maintenance operations, the vessel is equipped with anchor handling equipment and offshore lifting crane of 35 tonnes at 7.5 m capacity for handling gravity anchors, mooring buoys and single buoy mooring (SBM) hoses.

Furthermore, the 50 m DMSV is also equipped with external firefighting capability to class 1. The delivery of this vessel marks yet another fruitful collaboration between Grandweld and Adnoc, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
