Algeria set to start up 300,000T sugar refinery

ALGIERS, March 9, 2016

A new sugar refinery in Algeria will start production "within weeks" with a capacity of 300,000 tonnes per year, an official at the industry ministry told Reuters on Wednesday.

The refinery, owned by a private Algerian investor near the western city of Oran, will later double output to 600,000 tonnes a year, said the official. – Reuters
