Alba’s sales, production figures up for Q3

MANAMA, October 10, 2016

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading aluminium smelter, has revealed that its sales volume reached 246,293 tonnes in the third quarter (Q3) of 2016, an increase of 7,431 tonnes compared to 238,862 tonnes in Q3 2015.

The production volume for the same period rose by 2.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to reach 246,146 tonnes, said a statement from the company.

For the nine months of 2016, the company's sales volume stretched to 717,569 tonnes, up from 699,362 tonnes in the same period of 2015. The production volume increased by 3,722 tonnes to reach 720,750 tonnes year-to-date, it said.

In addition, Alba closed the third quarter of 2016 with its value-added sales averaging 58 per cent of total shipments while value-added sales stood at 55 per cent for the nine months of 2016, it added.

Alba’s chief executive officer Tim Murray, said: “Alba continues to raise the bar on operational performance amidst difficult market conditions.

“As we move towards 2017, our focus on Safety and operational excellence will remain our top priorities,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
