Oman Air’s supply chain unit wins ISO certification

MUSCAT, October 2, 2017

Oman Air, the sultanate’s national carrier said its supply chain management (SCM) has been awarded the ISO (International Standards Organisation) 9001:2015 certification by Bureau Veritas under UKAS accreditation. 
 
It is the latest internationally recognised standard for quality management, ensuring that organisations have proven processes in place to meet customer requirements.
 
Granted independently, the ISO 9001:2015 signifies the high quality of the participating organisation’s work.
 
On the achievement, Imad Al Lawati, the VP for Supply Chain Management at Oman Air said: "We are proud to announce that supply chain management operation has gained ISO 9001:2015 certification, which is a clear demonstration of the high standard that has been achieved and maintained."
 
“The effective management of our supply chain is vital to the overall effectiveness of the airline whilst it may not be visible to our customers, it has played a key role in Oman Air’s continuing success,” he noted.
 
ISO certification is aimed at helping improve business efficiency and often has positive impact on investment, market share, sales growth, sales margins and competitive advantage besides improving employee motivation, awareness and morale and enhance customer satisfaction.-TradeArabia News Service
