Dammam Port reports 4.9pc rise in goods handled

RIYADH, December 2, 2018

Dammam-based King Abdulaziz Port achieved an increase in its total goods handled during the third quarter of 2018 by 8 million tonnes, up 4.9 per cent, compared to 7.6 million tonnes during the same period in 2017, said a report.

The port witnessed an increase in the total goods handled as of the beginning of this year until September 2018 by 23.38 million tonnes, up 4.2 per cent compared to 22.43 million tonnes for the same period of 2017, said a Saudi Press Agency report, citing Saudi Ports Authority ‘Mawani’.

This came within the keenness of the port's management to maintain its development through attention to quality services being provided to meet the aspirations and goals of the Kingdom's Vision2030, added the report.
