At Nato, Turkey PM defiant over downing of Russian jet

BRUSSELS, November 30, 2015

Turkey's premier dismissed on Monday any suggestion that Ankara should apologise for shooting down a Russian warplane in its airspace last week, after winning strong Nato support for the right to defend itself.

"No country should ask us to apologise," Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told reporters following a meeting with Nato's secretary general at the alliance headquarters in Brussels.

He also warned that such incidents continued to be a risk as long as Russia and the US-led coalition bombing Islamic State in Syria worked separately.-Reuters
