i2 opens Dakar service centre

Dubai, June 19, 2007

i2, one of the region’s largest and most diverse mobile phone provider, has launched its newest service centre in Dakar, Senegal.

Located on 10 Avenue Leopold Sedar Senghor X rue Faure, the centre will address the needs of mobile users including issues regarding customer service, technical
difficulties, warranty and software upgrades.

Bashar El Kadhi, senior vice-president of i2 Africa, Joseph Ndong, Senegal telecom minister, Waleed Maroof, i2 group technical manager for Africa; and Nathalie Basque, i2 managing director Senegal were among those who attended the inauguration ceremony.

Basque said i2’s business model, expansion strategy and marketing mix share a common denominator as they were all heavily customer-focused.

i2 has about 50 service centres across 22 markets, with plans to expand its after sales support network in the next year. TradeArabia News Service
