Batelco equips Bahrain City Centre

Manama, September 13, 2008

Bahrain’s leading integrated telecommunications services provider Batelco said it has equipped the Bahrain City Centre with an array of advanced telecommunications services.

Batelco has offered BCC a portfolio of Next Generation Network (NGN) based services that include voice and data services; such as MPLS, ADSL, IP telephony, ISDN, & leased lines amongst all other products in the portfolio, as well as mobile services including HSDPA (14.4Mbps), 3G and Video Telephony.

"Provision of these services will positively contribute to achieving the Centre's objectives; that include revenue growth, customer satisfaction and improved efficiency," said Batelco general manager Enterprise Division Andrew Hanna.

"The deployment of these services will give the Centre a competitive edge, as it will strengthen their position in the market and further enhance their already strong image in the industry," he added.

"We would like to thank our GSM and NGN teams for their great efforts and for the timely implementation of the challenging tasks assigned to them as part of this giant project," said Hanna.

Hanna and Batelco City Centre project team recently visited the new centre for a site inspection where they were welcomed by Majid Al Futaim Group's Country Director Bahrain, Ahmed Al Hamadi.

Al Hamadi said: "The opening of Bahrain City Centre is a special moment for all of us involved in the project and the people of the Kingdom. We are delighted to collaborate with our capable partners such as Batelco who are delivering their proven telecom expertise to Bahrain City Centre and assisting us with the smooth operations of the Centre."
