Nawras short listed for telecom awards

Muscat, September 27, 2010

Nawras, a leading Oman-based mobile operator and a Qtel Group company, has been named as a finalist in two categories of the Telecoms World Awards Middle East 2010.

Nawras has been short listed for both best customer strategy and best operator categories, winners of which will be announced at the sixth annual event set to take place in Dubai on October 5.

Up to 40 nominations were received for each category, organisers said. With such a large number of entries, even reaching the final stage amongst the regions best is an achievement in itself, they added.

“On behalf of all the Nawras family, I am very excited about this recognition for our customer friendly approach and delighted to see Nawras named amongst the region’s top telecommunications companies,” said Nawras chief executive officer Ross Cormack.

“We have all worked hard to transform the telecommunications landscape in the Sultanate over the last five years by changing what people buy and where as well as how they get help and how they pay.”

“Our focus has been on excellence in every aspect of the customer experience and I am sure this pleasingly different approach will have contributed to Nawras reaching the final few in two award categories of this esteemed event,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
