Bahrain works ministry hosts IT programme

A major information technology (IT) training programme was organised by the Bahrain Ministry of Works in Manama as part of its initiatives to establish an electronic system to manage assets.

Works Minister Essam Khalaf was among senior ministry officials who attended the programme organised by the ministry's information technology directorate (ITD) at the Gulf Hotel.

Under-Secretary Waleed Al Saei, assistant under-secretaries, directors and representatives from the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, the Central Informatics Organisation and the Electricity and Water Authority also took part.

ITD director Hisham Sater said, "It aims to implement best international practices in the field of infrastructure for the ministry to handle different challenges in infrastructure management, decrease maintenance and follow up costs, speed up services delivery and tackle any urgency."

"Once completed, the new programme will facilitate implementation of regular maintenance programmes which will positively serve infrastructure and assets management," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
