Bahrain TRA boss wins top regional honour

Manama, January 2, 2014

The chairman of Bahrain’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) chairman has received the "Best Telecom Regulator Leader in the Samena Region" Award in its recent fifth edition.

The award for Dr Mohammed Al Amer was presented at the Samena Telecommunications Council 2013 Awards ceremony, reported the Gulf daily News, our sister publication.

It came in recognition of distinctive successes achieved by TRA under his leadership and his leading role in the development of the telecommunications sector in the kingdom.

"We are proud to win this award, which is attributed to the board, the general director and the staff of TRA who had a significant role in its achievements at various levels," Dr Al Amer said.

TRA has won numerous awards in the previous years including the e-Economic Award in 2012 at the local level, CommesMEA's Best Regulator Award in 2013 and Samena's Best Regulator Award in 2011. – TradeArabia News Service
