Batelco rolls out first cloud IT security solution

Batelco, the leading business solutions provider in Bahrain, has announced the launch of the DDOS, the first cloud IT security solution of its kind to be introduced by a telecom provider in the market.

The distributed denial of service (DDOS) mitigation solution is part of Batelco’s growing cloud portfolio, said the company in a statement.

DDOS, vehicle tracking and IMaaS are some of the cloud initiatives launched by Batelco with more in the pipeline, it stated.

Cloud solutions will transform the way business is conducted injecting more flexibility, improving operational and cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and speeding up deployment.

DDOS came as an answer to the increased threats in cyber space, as cyber-attacks have become a major security concern for organisations of all sizes. This has driven business owners to look for sophisticated solutions that could help mitigate the disastrous impacts of unexpected attacks on their web servers which are exposed to the public, the statement added.

The DDOS Mitigation solution is designed to protect customers’ networks against any malicious attempts by containing the harm of such attacks, thus ensuring the operational status of the organisation.

This solution contributes significantly to safeguard organisations’ revenues and reputational risk by ensuring the availability of mission-critical applications, systems and networks so that they are ready for business at all times.

DDOS mitigation solution features various benefits including extended risk protection by addressing attacks before they reach the organisation’s network, protection of brand reputation by maximising the availability of the corporate website, an online monitoring system that enables organisations to view performance and traffic statistics, mitigation of the  exposure to compliance and liability risks, unlimited threshold for attack mitigation, and an immediate protection against attacks through 24/7 proactive Security Operations Centre.
