Dubai Silicon Oasis launches TechTerms app

DUBAI, October 26, 2014

Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) has announced the launch of the newly-developed bilingual TechTerms application that acts like a search engine for technical words and a technology dictionary.
Focusing on digital Arabic content, the TechTerms app is DSOA’s first product offering as part of its commitment to Islamic economy initiative.

DSOA, the regulatory body for integrated free zone technology park Dubai Silicon Oasis, said the app is available in both Arabic and English for free download on IOS and Android devices.

In its first phase, the app is downloadable, whereby users can search for technical words even when offline. In the second phase, the app will be made interactive, allowing users to submit new terms for DSOA’s approval and inclusion in the application, said a top official.

"We are confident the TechTerms app will add significant value to the Islamic economy initiative. This user-friendly app will prove handy to anyone looking for the meaning and explanation of technical terms or jargons," remarked its deputy CEO Shahla Ahmed Abdul Razak.

DSOA, he said, was committed to supporting creative and innovative youth-driven projects in the fields of Arabic and digital content.

"We encourage all individuals to benefit from the support and incubational environment at Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre by presenting an innovative idea that supports Arabic and digital content," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
