Gulf Air wins top Gitex awards

MANAMA, November 5, 2014

Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air received three top awards during the Gitex Technology Week 2014, a renowned IT expo that was held in Dubai, UAE.

The national carrier won the Gitex 2014 Cloud Award for 'Best Big Data Solution', the ACN Arab Technology Award for Harnessing Innovation of the Year and the Global Enterprise Connect (GEC) Award for Best Company/Organisation for Green IT initiatives, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Maher Salman Al Musallam, acting chief executive, said: “This is a great honour for Gulf Air's information technology (IT) department which consistently strives to support and facilitate the greater mission of our airline by continuously improving our information technology services to better meet the evolving needs of our passengers and, in tandem, minimising our impact on the environment.” - TradeArabia News Service
