Du wins top ISO certification

DUBAI, June 18, 2015

Dubai-based telecommunication services provider du said its Information Technology (IT) department has been awarded the ISO 27001:2013 Certification, in recognition of its information security management system.

The ISO 27001:2013 is designed to ensure the selection of adequate and proportionate security controls that protect information assets and give confidence to interested parties, said a statement from du.

The information security management system enables du to continue deploying safe working practices that are well established, and reduce risks to information and its protection through its standard processes and policy frameworks, it added.

The certificate was presented to Farid Faraidooni du’s chief operations officer by Basem Obaid, area general manager, India Middle East and South East Europe, Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, during the awards ceremony at du headquarters in Dubai Media City, Dubai, UAE.

Leading du officials including Walid Kamal, senior vice president, IT; Ibrahim Jebai, senior director IT Governance; Rawan AlAlool, manager process and performance manager took part besides Ayman Ktaily, marketing and sales manager, Lloyd’s Register.

Speaking at the event, Faraidooni said: “We are proud to have achieved this independent certification, as it demonstrates our level of commitment to implementing the tightest security controls, and the emphasis we place on the confidentiality and security of our clients’ electronic data.”

“As we continue to expand our client base and launch new services, it’s crucial that we do not overlook the security element. Customers are always looking for increased assurance over the integrity and protection of their personal information, mobile activities, conversations, and billing details,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
