Kuwait 2012 GDP growth slows to 8.3pc

Kuwait, November 8, 2013

Kuwait's gross domestic product growth slowed to 8.3 percent year-on-year in inflation-adjusted terms in 2012 from a revised 10.2 percent in the previous year, preliminary data showed.

The Central Statistical Bureau said it had switched to a new base year of 2010 from the previous 2000 for the 2012 GDP data.

Before the change of base year, analysts polled by Reuters in September forecast the Opec member's economy would expand 2.5 percent in 2013 and 2.9 percent in 2014.  - Reuters
