UAE’s new visa fee structure from August 1

Abu Dhabi, July 29, 2014

UAE will implement its new visa fee and fine structure from August 1, a report said, citing a Cabinet decision published in an official gazette.

The new rules include the issuing of a new range of entry permits and visas, such as multiple entry permits for visit or work; study visas, and entry permits for medical care and conferences, added the report in Gulf News.

A Dh5,000 ($1,360) refundable deposit will be levied for cancelling a sponsor’s residence visa without cancelling the visas of the sponsored family members, said the report, adding that the deposit will be refunded after the sponsors adjusts their status.

While a Dh3,000 deposit will be charged for sponsorship of each family member for a female investor, humanitarian cases determined by the Minister of the Interior will be subject to a Dh5,000 refundable deposit, the report said.

While individual applicants failing to honour a declaration will be fined Dh500, a corporate applicant will be fined Dh2,000, the report added.
